Friday Night @ the Movies….
Nope, I’m not at the movies tonight. In fact, I haven’t been to a theater since The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies came out. Not sure exactly when that was, but that was the last time the Mrs. and I went to see a movie on the big screen.
Instead, tonight I spent some time crawling through the new user registration screen on the BBS. I had been testing things with existing users, but after switching to WebSockets, I realized I needed to go through the full new user registration process to make sure everything worked properly.
And that’s when pure pandemonium broke loose.
I ran into all kinds of issues—things weren’t flowing correctly, circular references popped up, and I had to recode a significant chunk of the registration page. Some logic had to be moved into different modules to clean things up, but after a bit of untangling, I got it mostly sorted out.
That said, there are still some line-breaking issues, and text occasionally gets jumbled on the screen. But it’s getting late, and after a full workday plus three hours of coding, I’m calling it a night.
On the bright side, it looks like rain is in the forecast this weekend, which means extra time to code! We’re getting close—I promise!
Happy Computing,
Babble Baz
