Well, it’s been a good night in the Babble Baz bunker. I got to spend some time with our daughter, who’s home from university for the weekend — always awesome when we get those windows. (And shoutout to her for catching Ke$ha in concert Thursday night — glitter and chaos, just like this BBS!)
Tonight was another solid push on Fantasy Uprising 2025:
– The message boards are starting to come to life — you can now view the available boards and send private messages between users.
– Tomorrow night, my goal is to wire up reading and posting messages directly to the boards.
– After that? I’m hoping to crank out some early door games — maybe a simple Tic-Tac-Toe to start, just like the old days. Did some research and found a few C# console games that should drop right into the BBS framework without too much hassle.
It feels good seeing this old-school BBS dream taking real shape in 2025. Every night it gets a little closer to the vibe I remember (and loved) from back in the day.
That’s about it for now. I’m thinking I’ll spin up Steam and run a mission or two of MechWarrior: Mercenaries before calling it a night. Gotta scratch that ‘90s itch one way or another!
Happy Computing,
Babble Baz
