Monday Night Progress
We’re Getting Close to Testing!
The portal for testing is almost ready to open! If you’re interested in becoming an alpha tester, just send me an email or leave a comment on this post.
This week, I finished converting the main menu and began working on the message board menu. When I say “converting,” I’m referring to modifying the original Python code to handle WebSocket commands. This adjustment is only necessary because I want to embed the BBS into a webpage, but it’s been a worthwhile effort.
Tonight, I wrapped up the main menu and verified that everything is working correctly. I also made some adjustments to the terminal to prevent the screen from wrapping text and messing up the output. I’m happy to report that this issue has been resolved! Afterward, I started on the message board menus but decided to call it an early night since I need to focus on homework for my AI classes.
I’m pushing hard to release the alpha test this week. Next week, I’ll be up at the farm, and I’m unsure how much time I’ll have for coding. My to-do list at the farm is already packed: I need to cut up a few fallen trees, run a new water line for the washing machine (switching from galvanized pipe to PEX), and move some stones. If the weather cooperates, I’m hoping to finish sealing the stone fireplace as well.
But I digress—back to the BBS! Here’s what’s next on my to-do list:
- Finish the message boards.
- Complete the sub-menus for the message boards.
I’m also planning to create a new page on this site. It will include a detailed list of items still in progress, completed features, and timelines for upcoming tasks.
Thank you all for following along. Your support means a lot!
Happy computing,
Babble Baz
